Sport and recreation
Sport and recreation centre north of the Amfora hotel offers several tennis courts, small-football, handball, basketball, and volleyball fields. There is a trim path next to this complex.
Gymnasium, which can be hired for various sports, is in the Hotel Amfora. There is also open tennis court, 33 m long pool, and a sauna. More information at the reception.
There are indoor swimming pools in Hotel Palace (for the guests of the hotel). Saunas are in hotels Amfora and Palace.

Zdenko Roić Memorial
An international New Years regatta in categories "Laser" and "Optimist." Regatta is being held for thirty years, traditionally at end of the year. The organisers of this regatta are the Sailing club "Zvir", City of Hvar, tourist board of the City of Hvar and Sunčani Hvar.
Gariful Hvar open
An international tennis tournament for women, which is held in April in several towns on the Croatian coast under name "the pearls of Adriatic." The organiser of Hvar’s event is the restaurant “Gariful”.
